Yard Waste and Composting
Yard waste includes leaves, brush, grass clippings, and other plant material.
Disposal Options
State law prohibits the disposal of yard waste such as leaves, branches, weeds, and grass clippings in the trash. Residents can use one or more of the following disposal options:
Requirements
If your yard waste is dropped off at a yard waste collection site or is picked up by the City's contract hauler, state law requires utilization of a reusable container or special bag that can be composted. Plastic bags are not considered reusable or compostable and are banned for purposes of yard waste disposal.
Depositing leaves, grass clippings, trash and soil from the boulevard or private property into the street is prohibited, as these items may end up being washed into the storm drainage system as an illicit discharge
