Recycling
Single Sort Recycling
Recyclables are collected in a single sort method. Materials do not need to be sorted into different groups, simply place all recycles into your recycling container.
Below is a list of commonly accepted recyclables:
- Cardboard boxes (flattened and sized to fit in container)
- Newspaper (w/inserts)
- Magazines, mail, phone books & office paper
- Milk cartons & juice boxes (rinse clean, replace caps)
- Steel & aluminum cans (rinse clean, labels OK)
- Glass bottles & jars (rinse clean, remove caps and lids)
- Plastic food & beverage containers (empty, rinse, replace caps)
The following items DO NOT belong in your recycling container:
- Plastic bags
- Batteries
- Frozen food boxes and black deli trays
- Foam and Styrofoam
- Packing peanuts
- Household glass including light bulbs, drinking glasses, or mirrors
- Garden hoses
- Holiday lights
- Food and yard waste
- Ceramics, porcelain, and pottery
- Toys
- Scrap metal
- Propane tanks

Event Recycling
The City has portable recycling and food scraps containers available at no cost to City residents and organizations for use at block parties, graduations, family reunions or other temporary gatherings.
