Severe Drought Warning Alert - Conserve Water

Water Conservation Social Media

Due to a prolonged period of dry weather resulting in severe drought conditions, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has recently announced that the Mississippi Headwaters watershed, which includes White Bear Lake, is moving to a Drought Warning Response Phase. This requires the City to implement water supply reduction measures.

As a reminder watering lawns is prohibited from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May through September to conserve groundwater resources and prevent the wasteful and harmful effects of irrigation during the mid-day hours. In addition to lawn watering restrictions, all community members are asked to protect our water resources by conserving water through other measures as well.

Significant amounts of water can be conserved by limiting or eliminating non-essential outdoor use such as irrigating lawns, washing cars and filling pools.
