Blue-green algae blooms detected in East Goose Lake

July 11, 2023 - Blue-Green Algae Blooms Notice

Blue-green algae blooms were recently detected on East Goose Lake in White Bear Lake.

The public should avoid contact with the water in lakes that have active blue-green algae blooms, also known as harmful algal blooms (HABs). During these bloom events, the water contains blue-green algae at levels that may cause short-term and long-term harm including skin irritation, gastrointestinal problems, and/or liver damage. People and pets should avoid all contact with the water, scum, or algae. Always remember, when in doubt, best keep out.
