The City of White Bear Lake and many other communities depend on groundwater for their drinking water supply. Increasing demands on the water supply makes groundwater conservation and management a top priority. Reducing water use is critical for protecting the sustainability of the groundwater supply in the future.

The Metropolitan Council, through funding from the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment, has awarded the City of White Bear Lake a water efficiency grant with the goal of reducing water consumption.  As a result, the City is providing up to $200 in rebates to water utility customers who replace existing high-flow toilets with WaterSense Certified toilets that flush 1.28 gallons of water or less.
