Can I burn my leaves?
No one in the State of Minnesota can burn leaves without a permit. MN State Statutes 88.171 OPEN BURNING PROHIBITIONS

Can I park on my grass?
Parking on unimproved surfaces such as grass is prohibited. Only blacktop or concrete is allowed. §1302.55

Can I park on the street in the summer?
Off-street parking and on-street parking in residential areas for periods over six hours shall be limited to the residents of those homes and their guests, unless otherwise regulated by other codes and ordinances. §603.180

How long can my grass be?
During the Spring/Summer/Fall months, code enforcement is busy with complaints regarding long grass, overgrown weeds and alley vegetation. Grass cannot exceed more than 12 inches long & noxious weeds must be removed. §705.010 & §705.020

What are the rules about dumpsters?

What are the rules for commercial vehicle/trailer parking in residential areas?
Type I commercial vehicles may be stored in a garage or on a driveway. Type II vehicles are prohibited in residential districts, except for vehicles being used by a utility, government agency, construction company and moving company or similar company serving the residence, vehicles making pickups or drop offs. Code Section §1302.55.
Type I commercial vehicles are defined as a van or pickup truck modified through the installation of a roof attachment, ladder rack, or similar feature provided the vehicle is not greater than 8’-6” in height or 22’ in length.
Type II vehicles are defined as Tractors other than those intended for residential purposes; trucks, and pickups which have a capacity greater than one (1) ton or having a gross vehicle weight over twelve thousand (12,000) pounds, whichever is less; step vans designed or modified for the transportation of cargo, freight, construction machinery, equipment, materials or implements, dump trucks, cargo trucks, cube vans, tow trucks, semi trailer tractors, tank trucks, boom trucks, bucket trucks and fire trucks or any vehicle (not including recreational vehicles as defined in City Code) which are greater than 8’-6” in height or 22’ in length. Code Section §1301.030.

What are the rules on junk vehicles?
Junk vehicles are any motor vehicle including, but not limited to, any automobile, truck, trailer, marine craft, snowmobile, motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle, or equipment for motorized transportation that; (1) has a missing or defective part that is necessary for the normal operation of the vehicle; or (2) is stored on blocks, jacks or other supports; or (3) is not currently licensed.
Junk vehicles may not be stored outside. Properties are limited to one junk vehicle stored inside of a garage.

What are the rules on outdoor storage?
All building material and construction equipment (not including commercial vehicles as regulated by Code Section §1302.055) shall be stored in an enclosed building. Building materials and construction equipment stored outside in conjunction with a legally authorized construction project shall not be considered unlawful.
Lawn and garden equipment, snow blowers and detached snow plows shall be stored within buildings or in the rear or side yard (but not in a side yard abutting a street) if screened so as not to be visible from adjoining properties as viewed from ground level.
Firewood piles which are neatly stacked and free from vermin shall be stored in the rear and side yards only. In the case of corner lots, both yards abutting a public right of way are considered a front yard. §1302.030 Subd. 15

What are the winter parking rules?
A) No owner of a motor vehicle shall leave, park or permit the same to stand on any City street, alley or in a Municipal Parking Lot for more than twenty-four (24) hours during the period from November First (1st) through April First (1st) of each year. §603.060
B) No owner of a vehicle shall leave, park or permit same to stand on any City street, alley or in a Municipal Parking Lot, except in compliance with the direction of a police officer, for a period of time commencing immediately after the accumulation thereon of three (3) inches or more of snow, and continuing until the snow has been removed to the full width of the street, alley or parking lot. §603.070

When can I call in a barking dog?

Where can I store firewood?
