Seeking Applications for Environmental Advisory Commission Vacancy

The City of White Bear Lake is accepting applications from City residents to join its Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) for a term starting July 1, 2024. This volunteer position serves on an advisory body to the City Council, which makes recommendations to the Council on policies and actions related to sustainability, climate change, and protection and rehabilitation of the natural environment in the City of White Bear Lake. The EAC studies, proposes and advocates for regulations and policies related to waste, water, resource, and energy management practices that are scientifically sound. The EAC also seeks input from and encourages White Bear Lake residents to adopt sustainable environmental practices in their homes, businesses, and neighborhoods through surveys, education and sponsorship of events showcasing available products and resources.

The EAC consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor to serve three-year terms. Commission members must be a resident of the City of White Bear Lake and able to attend meetings generally held the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
